The Homeowners’ Association frequently communicates information to the community via standard mail, sent by our property management company. Per our governing documents there are some aspects of community management which must be communicated by standard mail (e.g. notification of the annual meeting, annual dues assessment). Our community web site is an additional communication channel between the Board of Directors and the membership/homeowners. Please take a few minutes to visit and familiarize yourself with its resource. If you don’t find the information you need there, the Board of Directors can be contacted through the “Contact Us” form at the bottom of the home page. Please remember to subscribe to the mailing list with a valid email address to insure delivery of important communications from your Board of Directors.
The Homeowners’ Association also maintains a Facebook page for community use. To find it, search Facebook for “South Lake Community Greenwood, Indiana.” The Facebook page is frequently used for inter-resident communication and allows residents to post about upcoming events, garage sales, etc. All activity is monitored by the page administrators, and new posts must be approved before they can be viewed. Posts or comments which could be considered rude, crude or socially unacceptable will not be allowed by the page administrators. The Facebook page is a private page only for use by residents of the community, and South Lake residency is verified by the page administrators.
The South Lake Homeowners’ Association hosts an annual homeowner meeting in October of each year. The time and place are determined by the Board of Directors and the property management company approximately one month prior to the meeting, and this information is communicated to homeowners. The location is determined based on availability of public spaces large enough to support the size of our community but is always within five (5) miles of the community per our By-laws.
In recent years, the association has also hosted a spring homeowner meeting in March/April. While not required by our covenants or by-laws, the board has felt that this is a great way of maintaining engagement with homeowners.
